Intricately Woven in the Depths of the Earth. 2020. Oil on Panel. 30″x 24″x 2″

My latest painting!

This one is called “Intricately Woven in the Depths of the Earth” and is inspired by Psalm 139:15 and the Winter Solstice.

I also wrote a poem to go with it and recite it in the video. Of course I got a word wrong. Full (correct) text is below.

This painting has sold. However, I will have prints available too, just as soon as I figure out how to add that to Woocommerce.

The wheel is turning,
can you feel it?
The chilled air whooshing in,
sending Earth to slumber
and waters to freeze?
But the air - Oh, the air is alive!
Swooping and swirling
with snowflakes and potential.
With tidings of comfort and joy.

The wheel is turning,
can you see it?
The new thing
that has been made in secret,
while the world sleeps?
Intricately woven
in the depths of the earth.
In that marvelous, wild, life-giving
pregnant earth!

The wheel is turning,
can you hear it?
The frosty air whooshing in?
Whistling its proclamation:
Here comes the sun.
The Son
who has scattered the proud,
dethroned the powerful,
and sent the rich away empty.

Rise and shine!
Shine like the sun.
For the world is about to turn.

Artist. Seeker. Heart attack survivor.
